Pediatric Skilled Nursing Facility Speech Pathologist - Tacoma, Washington
Step into an impactful role supporting students’ communication and academic growth as a Speech Language Pathologist for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract-based SLP opportunity focuses on providing direct speech and language services within a dynamic educational setting, primarily working with elementary students, as well as some high schoolers, across three sites.
Collaborate closely with the Special Education Director to deliver individualized assessments and therapy tailored to support IEP goals. Your expertise will also be valued through consultation with staff and contributions to multi-disciplinary teams that positively impact the school community.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Active Washington SLP license (CCC or CFY candidates welcome).
- Previous school-based experience strongly preferred.
- Background in pediatric and healthcare SLP, with a commitment to students with special needs and their families.
- Proficient in assessment, evaluation, and consultation for diverse student populations.
- Up-to-date knowledge on special education processes, including early learning and atypical impairments.
- Strong organizational skills for planning and implementing special education identification phases.
- Ability to foster positive, professional relationships with students, staff, families, and community stakeholders.
- Excellent communicator who uses active listening and adapts channels to reach intended audiences.
- Creative, lighthearted approach that integrates fun into daily routines.
