School Speech Language Pathologist Assistant - Sugar Land, Texas
Bring your passion for language and communication to support students in East and Northeast Houston as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). This rewarding contract opportunity allows you to provide on-site therapeutic services to students across three campuses: Furr High School, Edison Middle School, and Holland Middle School. Make a difference daily while collaborating with an enthusiastic educational team.
To be successful, you will need:
- An active Texas SLPA license—supervision hours to acquire a license are not provided, so licensure must be in hand
- Previous experience in school-based settings as an SLPA (with details on where you’ve worked)
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, student-centered approach
- Reliable transportation, enabling a commute to all assigned campuses
- On-site availability for the duration of the school year, beginning as soon as possible through May 28, 2027
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Delivering speech and language support services under the guidance of an SLP
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to advance student progress
- Accurately documenting session notes and student outcomes
- Participating in meetings and providing input to IEP teams
- Maintaining professional compliance and supporting district initiatives
This contract includes reimbursement for a required laptop purchase, and you’ll find a supportive environment focused on student success. You’ll also need to complete HISD fingerprinting within three days of your contract start and be prepared for a multi-campus commute.
