School Speech Language Pathologist - Portsmouth, VA
A rewarding opportunity awaits dedicated Speech-Language Pathologists seeking contract positions supporting K-12 students throughout the Virginia Beach and Norfolk areas. Multiple openings are available for enthusiastic SLPs, whether you hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or are seeking your Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY). You’ll work with a diverse group of schools, providing therapy in Chesapeake, Isle of Wight County, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Southampton County, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach.
In this school-year assignment, you’ll provide speech and language therapy services, collaborating closely with students, families, and educational teams. Your assignment will include 7.33-hour days, five days a week, working with a range of age groups from kindergarten through high school.
Qualifications:
- Active and valid state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology required
- SLP-CCC or SLP-CFY credentials accepted
- Experience in school-based settings preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Passion for supporting student success and overcoming communication barriers
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
- Develop and implement individualized IEPs
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support student progress
- Maintain thorough documentation of evaluations and therapy sessions
- Serve as an advocate for students’ speech and language needs
