Speech Language Pathologist Assistant in Houston, TX

Advance your career as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) making a meaningful difference in Houston-area schools. This contract opportunity involves working with students at three campuses on the east and northeast side of Houston, providing vital support to speech-language programs.
As an SLPA, you’ll work directly with students and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to help learners achieve communication goals. This position requires on-site commitment and the ability to travel between Furr High School, Edison Middle School, and Holland Middle School.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Texas SLPA license in hand (must upload screenshot with application)
- Previous school-based SLPA experience is essential
- Reliable personal transportation to commute daily across designated campuses
- Availability for the full contract length, from start date through 5/28/27
- Ability to promptly complete required HISD fingerprinting and background checks within three days of contract signing
- Comfortable purchasing a laptop for school use (full reimbursement provided)
- Prior experience in the Houston area or with local schools is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect speech-language services to students under the supervision and direction of licensed SLPs
- Collect, record, and analyze data on student progress, maintaining accurate and timely documentation
- Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with school staff and families
- Support IEP implementation and help create an engaging, supportive learning environment
- Clearly document all services and comply with district guidelines
