Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active SLPA certification or licensure in Tennessee (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience or strong interest in working with children in school settings
- Familiarity with implementing speech therapy treatment plans created by a supervising SLP
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Adaptable and responsive to the needs of diverse student populations
Core Responsibilities:
- Carry out individual and group therapy activities as directed by the supervising SLP
- Assist with screening, assessment, and documentation, adhering to established protocols
- Support the development and use of communication strategies for students
- Track and report student progress, maintaining accurate records and complying with confidentiality guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff collaboration, and share observations as needed
- Work collaboratively to adapt activities and materials for student engagement
- Communicate regularly with teachers, parents, and therapy teams to ensure consistent support
