School Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) | Prince George, Virginia
Make a meaningful impact supporting students across elementary and middle school settings as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). This is a full-time contract opportunity, starting as soon as possible, working with K-12 students across 2-3 school sites. You'll collaborate with teachers and other professionals to deliver essential speech and language services, helping students communicate more confidently and effectively in their daily school activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
- Previous experience working with children in educational settings, especially grades K-12
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
- Flexibility to travel between assigned school sites as needed
- Familiarity with implementing therapy goals and following treatment plans developed by a supervising SLP
- Excellent organizational skills and a proactive work approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language intervention to students under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Work individually and in small groups to target communication needs per students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Assist with screenings, documentation, and progress monitoring
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and parents to support students’ communication development in the classroom
- Support smooth transitions and effective communication strategies across school sites
