Embark on an impactful role supporting students’ communication needs as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant. This contract opportunity is based onsite within a dynamic school district in Porter County, Indiana, with travel between school sites and potential future teletherapy options. You’ll play a vital part in helping PreK–12th grade students improve their speech and language skills, with the district offering flexibility to align your assignment preferences for either grade level or geographic area within Porter County as building placements are finalized.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Indiana Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and relevant credentials
- Experience supporting students in educational settings, preferably across multiple grade levels (PreK–12)
- Satisfactory completion of background check and all standard district clearances
- Strong communication, organization, and adaptability skills
- Flexibility for placement as district reassignments are finalized
Role Responsibilities:
- Assist supervising Speech-Language Pathologists with therapy, documentation, and planning for a caseload of approximately 80–100 students
- Support the execution of individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention sessions
- Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to deliver consistent student care
- Adapt practices based on student needs and evolving district assignments
- Maintain accurate student records and progress notes in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines
