Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in Philipsburg, PA
Empower students to succeed by providing speech and language support as a valued contract Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). This rewarding opportunity involves partnering closely with a Tele SLP on a shared caseload, enabling collaborative care and professional growth.
The role involves serving students across elementary, middle, and high school settings, with a diverse mix of ages and communication needs. The caseload currently includes 41 students, with numbers subject to change. Your week will be a dynamic blend of delivering 55 thirty-minute treatment sessions—16 individual and 37 group—spread across three buildings. This variety promises continual development of your skills and the chance to make an impact across multiple age groups.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid SLPA license/certification for Pennsylvania
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong organizational skills to manage a split caseload efficiently
- Ability to collaborate with remote SLPs and in-person staff
- Excellent communication and record-keeping abilities
- Adaptability to work across multiple school sites with mixed student populations
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement speech-language therapy sessions as directed by supervising SLP
- Collect data and maintain accurate session notes
- Foster a positive, supportive environment for students
- Coordinate with the Tele SLP to align treatment plans and strategies
- Contribute to IEP documentation as needed
You will enjoy a consistent 35-hour workweek within the academic calendar, giving you the chance to build lasting relationships with students and staff. Please note that due to union guidelines, the district must continue to post internally and may notify you if a direct hire is secured during your contract.
