School Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) | Naperville, Illinois

This contract assignment is ideal for Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPA), SLPs holding CCC, or SLPs seeking their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY). You’ll play a crucial role in helping students reach their communication goals as part of a dedicated team.
Scheduled work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during the regular school year. For Extended School Year (ESY) programming, the schedule shifts to 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., ensuring you have structured, consistent hours. The school year ends May 29th, with ESY running from June 1 through June 29th. The following school year begins Thursday, August 13th for staff.
Caseload:
- K-6th grade students in a supportive setting
- 5 classrooms, each accommodating up to 6 students
- Current enrollment at 22 students, with the possibility for a small increase before year's end
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Illinois licensure as SLPA, SLP-CCC, or SLP-CFY
- Experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with young learners
- Commitment to creating engaging, functional communication interventions
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect speech therapy services
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families
- Assist in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and documentation
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
