School Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) | Joliet, Illinois

The role is onsite, Monday through Friday, 8:00am-3:30pm during the regular school year and 8:00am-2:30pm during the ESY (Extended School Year) program. You’ll be working in a supportive environment with small caseloads—currently, five classrooms with up to six students each, serving a total of 22 children (potentially up to 24 before school year end). The school year concludes on May 29th, followed by ESY programs from June 1 through June 29th. Looking ahead, staff return for the next academic year on August 13th.
Key Qualifications:
- Licensed or certified as SLP-CCC, SLP-CFY, or SLPA, with experience in school settings preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and families.
- Ability to create individualized therapy plans and monitor progress.
- Passion for helping elementary-age students achieve their communication goals.
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services to K-6th graders both individually and in small groups.
- Assess student needs, document progress, and participate in IEP meetings.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and other specialists to integrate therapy into classroom activities.
- Adapt interventions to meet each student’s unique strengths and challenges.
