School Speech Language Pathologist Assistant - Kerman, California

Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a School Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). This full-time, full-school-year role focuses on a Transitional Kindergarten through 5th-grade caseload in an engaging educational setting. You’ll be part of a supportive environment and directly collaborate with a highly skilled supervising SLP, ensuring guidance and growth every step of the way. We prioritize strong working relationships, so all candidates will first connect with the supervising SLP to ensure synergy and success.
Key Qualifications:
- Active SLPA license in California is required
- Minimum of 3 months’ practical experience as an SLPA
- Bilingual Spanish skills are a plus, but not necessary
- Previous school experience is preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Passion for working with elementary-aged children
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy services to students in TK-5, under the supervision of an SLP
- Support individualized education plan (IEP) goals and document student progress
- Assist with screenings, assessments, therapy prep, and material creation
- Communicate effectively with supervising SLP, teachers, and school staff to ensure student needs are met
- Encourage students’ confidence and participation in classroom communication
