An exciting opportunity awaits a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) with a passion for supporting students in a dynamic school setting. This contract position involves serving a caseload of approximately 73 K-12 students across two to three local schools, including elementary, middle, and high school levels. The assignment is full-time, spanning five days a week and seven hours each day, and offers the rewarding chance to make a lasting difference in students’ educational journeys.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a current SLPA license in North Carolina.
- Experience working in school-based speech therapy settings is required.
- Familiarity with speech, language, voice, and fluency interventions for K-12 students.
- Strong organizational and time management skills for managing a diverse caseload.
- Effective collaboration and communication abilities with educators, support staff, and families.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students as specified in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Coordinate services across multiple campuses to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Collect, organize, and maintain student records and progress data.
- Participate in eligibility and dismissal decisions, working to transition students who no longer qualify from services.
- Communicate effectively with teachers and assist in developing strategies for supporting students in the classroom.
