The position is perfect for a bilingual Spanish-speaking SLPA, ready to make an impact in a welcoming educational environment. You'll work Monday through Friday during regular school hours, collaborating closely with students, staff, and supervising speech-language pathologists.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current, active SLPA certification/license in Illinois is required
- Experience working in a school-based setting as an SLPA is highly preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and enthusiasm for working with children of diverse backgrounds
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language services to students in accordance with IEP goals under the supervision of an SLP
- Support the implementation of intervention plans and therapy activities in individual and small group settings
- Assist with evaluations, progress monitoring, and data collection
- Foster a positive, encouraging, and inclusive atmosphere for students
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with team members and families
- Participate in team meetings and professional development as needed
