Speech Language Pathologist Assistant in Auburn, WA
Step into an impactful role supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant for the 2026–2027 academic year. This contract opportunity offers 32.5 hours per week, running from your earliest availability through June 23, 2027. You’ll work in partnership with a virtual SLP to provide direct speech and language services at a middle school, managing a caseload of approximately 35 to 40 students.
In this position, you’ll collaborate closely with both students and school staff to help develop communication skills and achieve educational goals. While prior experience in a middle school setting is highly valued, candidates with a solid understanding of the unique challenges of this age group are also encouraged to apply.
Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State SLPA licensure (or willingness to obtain WA licensure)
- Completion of OSPI fingerprinting, or readiness to complete this requirement
- Experience or familiarity with supporting the middle school age group is preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy services as directed by the supervising SLP
- Work one-on-one and in small groups with middle school students
- Assist with planning and implementation of therapy materials and activities
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records
- Communicate effectively with the virtual SLP and school teams, as well as with families as needed
