Speech Language Pathologist (SLP-CF or CCC-SLP) | School-Based | Wheaton, IL
Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a school-based opportunity in Wheaton, Illinois. This full-time position offers the chance to work with a diverse student population ranging from elementary through high school age students while making a meaningful impact on communication and academic success.
We are currently hiring for two maternity leave coverage assignments and welcome applications from experienced clinicians as well as strong Clinical Fellows (SLP-CFs).
Position Overview

- Position Type: Full-Time, School-Based Contract
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, School Hours
Assignment Details
Leave Coverage #1
- Start Date: Late October/Early November 2026
- End Date: December 18, 2026
- Caseload: 1 Elementary School (Grades K-5), 1 Middle School (Grades 6-8)
- Student age range: Approximately 5-14 years old
- Compensation: Competitive hourly pay of $44 - $48 per hour
Leave Coverage #2
- Start Date: December 2026
- End Date: May 2027
- Caseload: High School students
- Student age range: Approximately 14-18 years old
- Compensation: Competitive hourly pay of $46 - $49 per hour
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct speech-language assessments and evaluations
- Identify communication disorders and determine eligibility for services
- Develop and implement individualized therapy goals
- Participate in multidisciplinary team collaboration and IEP meetings
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to students
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and district requirements
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and special education staff to support student success
Qualifications
- Active Illinois Speech Language Pathologist License
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- School-based experience preferred but not required
- Open to highly qualified SLP Clinical Fellows (SLP-CFs)
