School Speech Language Pathologist - Washington, IL

This contract opportunity offers the chance to work with a diverse special needs population, ages 5-21, addressing speech, language, and communication challenges within a dynamic school setting.
You will utilize your expertise in speech-language pathology to provide evaluations, assessments, observations, and detailed reports, collaborating with a supportive interdisciplinary team and engaging with students on the autism spectrum, with emotional disabilities, developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, or other health impairments.
Desired Background:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current SLP license or eligibility to practice in the state
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
- Experience with school-aged children and adolescents, particularly those in special education settings
- Familiarity with various assistive technologies and communication strategies
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments for students ages 5–21
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals
- Deliver therapy tailored to a wide range of needs, including autism and other specific learning challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and other specialists to ensure integrated support
- Maintain thorough documentation and provide progress reports to families and educational staff
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning
- Fulfill your role across traditional school hours (8 AM–4 PM) and summer session (7:45 AM–2:15 PM, Monday–Friday), through to June 28, 2027
