Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Pekin, IL
Make a remarkable impact supporting students’ growth and communication skills in a dynamic educational environment. A skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed for a rewarding contract assignment serving a diverse special needs population ages 5-21. This position runs ASAP through June 28, 2027, including summer coverage, offering you the chance to work with students across autism spectrum, emotional disabilities, developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, and other health impairments.
Position Details:
- School year hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- Summer/June session: 7:45 AM – 2:15 PM, Monday through Friday
- Hands-on role with meaningful interactions and supportive colleagues
What We’re Looking For:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid SLP license/certification in Illinois
- Prior school-based experience, especially with special needs populations, is highly valued
- Strong ability to conduct comprehensive evaluations, assessments, and observations
- Skilled at developing insightful, actionable reports and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Your Role:
- Deliver evidence-based therapy to students ages 5-21 with a range of exceptionalities
- Complete assessments and evaluations, maintain thorough and accurate documentation
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support student communication goals
- Provide ongoing consultation to classroom teachers and special educators to maximize student success
- Engage actively with families to support holistic care
