Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in East Peoria, IL
Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students ages 5-21 with diverse needs for the 2026/2027 school year and summer session. This highly collaborative role allows you to make a positive impact by providing essential speech-language services within an educational setting located near East Peoria, Illinois. The assignment runs from ASAP until June 28, 2027, with standard school-year hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and summer/June hours Monday to Friday, 7:45 AM to 2:15 PM.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active ASHA CCC-SLP certification or eligibility
- Appropriate state licensure for school-based practice
- Previous experience working with special needs students, including individuals with autism, emotional disabilities, developmental delays, intellectual or other health impairments
- Strong skills in conducting thorough evaluations, observations, and assessments
- Demonstrated ability to write detailed, timely progress reports
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy to students aged 5-21, both individually and in groups
- Conduct evaluations and assessments, including classroom observations and comprehensive reports
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Support and educate staff and families regarding students' speech-language needs and progress
- Maintain accurate documentation, adhering to all school and state guidelines
