Speech Language Pathologist in Peoria, IL

Serving a diverse special needs population ages 5-21, this position runs from now through June 2027, including the summer session. Each school year follows an 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM schedule, while summer hours are 7:45 AM to 2:15 PM, Monday through Friday, offering a consistent workday with shorter hours during June.
You’ll play a key role in supporting students with autism, emotional disabilities, developmental delays, or intellectual and other health impairments. The work environment is collaborative and focused on helping every student develop critical communication skills to support their educational goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current SLP certification and license to practice (or ability to obtain)
- Previous experience working in a school setting or with pediatric/special needs populations
- Strong assessment, evaluation, and documentation skills
- Ability to design and implement individualized treatment plans
- Familiarity with students with a range of disabilities, particularly autism, emotional disturbances, developmental delays, and intellectual or other health impairments
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations and assessments
- Observe students across settings to inform recommendations
- Develop and update individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain timely, detailed progress reports and documentation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, teachers, and families
- Provide direct and consultative speech-language therapy services
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive school environment
