School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Vista, California
Make a meaningful impact supporting middle and high school students as a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist. This contract position offers the chance to collaborate with grades 6-12 students who present a range of communication needs, from mild speech-only issues to moderate disabilities. The caseload is approximately 50 students, providing plenty of opportunities to deliver both individualized and group services.
Your expertise will empower students to strengthen their communication abilities, ultimately helping them thrive both academically and socially. You'll work closely with other education professionals and families to tailor intervention strategies that meet each student’s unique challenges.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current SLP-CCC certification required
- Prior experience working in a school-based setting, preferably with grades 6-12
- Knowledge of various disabilities, with comfort adapting support from mild to moderate needs
- Familiarity with IEP development, documentation, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to coordinate with teachers, staff, and families
- Ability to maintain a balanced caseload and meet deadlines
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for students with diverse communication disorders
- Conduct both individual and group speech-language therapy sessions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on IEP meetings and goal-setting
- Document evaluations, therapy notes, and monitor student progress aligned with educational standards
- Provide guidance to teachers and parents to support student communication needs in the classroom and at home
