A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available, specializing in telespeech and teletherapy services within a school setting. The role involves providing comprehensive speech and language support to students, leveraging teletherapy technology to deliver effective treatment.
Location: Metairie, LA
Contract Duration: August 7, 2026 – May 27, 2027
Hours: 35 hours per week (7 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)
Caseload and specific schools assigned to be determined
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services through teletherapy platforms to meet student needs
- Assess, diagnose, and implement individualized treatment plans for students requiring speech-language support
- Collaborate with school staff and parents to monitor progress and adjust interventions accordingly
- Maintain detailed documentation in compliance with school district and state guidelines
- Complete necessary district HR forms and comply with time-sensitive credentialing requirements
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Active state license to practice speech pathology in Louisiana
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Experience or training in telespeech or teletherapy service delivery preferred
Additional Information:
This contract is contingent upon the renewal of the school board agreement scheduled for the June 3, 2026 meeting. Candidates should be prepared to comply with all related district policies and procedures.
