A full-time position is available for a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide specialized teletherapy services within a school setting. This contract assignment is located in Harvey, Louisiana, serving the New Orleans area, with a scheduled start date of August 3, 2026, through May 27, 2027. The role requires delivering remote speech and language services, supporting students’ communication development through innovative and effective virtual modalities.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting teletherapy sessions for students, using appropriate evidence-based practices tailored to individual needs
- Collaborating remotely with educators, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitoring and documenting student progress, adjusting treatment strategies as required to achieve therapeutic goals
- Adhering to district forms and credentialing protocols as required by the human resources department
- Utilizing telehealth technology proficiently to maintain confidentiality and maintain engagement in a virtual learning environment
Qualifications sought:
- Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Active state licensure as an SLP, along with ASHA certification (CCC-SLP)
- Demonstrated experience and comfort with telepractice methodologies in educational settings
- Ability to meet time-sensitive credentialing requirements mandated by the school district
This contract entails 35 hours per week, typically seven hours daily with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Caseload and specific school assignments will be confirmed in due course. Candidates accepted for this position will have their offers contingent upon the renewal of the school board contract, expected to be finalized following a meeting on June 3, 2026.
