A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is sought for a contract position serving schools in the Jefferson Parish area, specifically in Harvey, LA, near New Orleans. This teletherapy role will primarily utilize telespeech skills to deliver remote speech-language services to school-aged students during the 2026-2027 school year.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing speech-language evaluations, therapy, and progress monitoring via teletherapy platforms to students assigned to the caseload
- Creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with school personnel and families
- Maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to district policies and procedures
- Participating in required meetings and completing district credentialing forms promptly
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Active state licensure to practice speech-language pathology
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) required
- Strong telespeech and teletherapy experience within school settings preferred
- Ability to manage workload effectively and communicate clearly with stakeholders
Work schedule consists of 35 hours per week, typically 7 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Specific caseload details and assigned schools will be determined closer to the start date. The contract period runs from August 7, 2026, through May 27, 2027.
Additional information: Any offers made and accepted for this role are contingent upon the school board’s renewal of the contract, which is scheduled for consideration on June 3, 2026. This contingency will be included in the official placement agreement.
