Seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) ready to take on a collaborative leadership role within a supportive school setting! This contract position, near Surprise, AZ, focuses on impactful case management and evaluation rather than daily direct service delivery, offering a rewarding alternative to traditional therapy roles.
As the supervising SLP, you will oversee two full-time SLPAs who manage the majority of direct therapy with students. Your primary responsibilities will be supervising these assistants, conducting evaluations, managing case files, and handling all aspects of IEP documentation and meetings. The caseload—approximately 120 students—reflects your concentrated focus on coordination, oversight, and compliance, rather than hands-on therapy.
Qualifications and Experience Needed:
- Active Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
- Familiarity with school-based speech therapy programs (SLP, SLP-CCC, SLP-CFY, SLP-School)
- Experience in case management, student evaluations, and IEP process
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with SLPAs and multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support SLPAs delivering direct student services
- Conduct student evaluations to determine appropriate interventions
- Oversee and ensure accuracy of all IEP-related documentation and meetings
- Manage a larger caseload (approx. 120 students), focusing on compliance and program quality
- Serve as a resource and mentor for team members across two local campuses
