This contract position offers the unique opportunity to support learners with a range of needs, from moderate to profound, in a supportive educational environment near Sterling Heights, MI. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Active state licensure (or eligibility to obtain before the start date)
- Experience working with pediatric populations, especially in educational and early intervention settings
- Clinical Competence Certificate (CCC-SLP) preferred (new graduates with strong backgrounds will be considered)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs), progress monitoring, and documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and assessments to determine students’ communication and speech needs
- Develop and implement targeted therapy plans for students with varying degrees of speech and language challenges
- Participate in IEP meetings, communicate progress, and help shape each student’s educational plan
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to promote student growth
- Maintain accurate records and track ongoing progress according to both school and state standards
