As an SLP in this school-based role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat a diverse caseload of students with speech, language, communication, and related disorders. Work closely with teachers, special education professionals, and families to facilitate progress, advocate for access to services, and build individualized plans that help each student reach their full potential.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active state licensure and ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) or eligibility
- Previous school-based SLP experience preferred but not required
- Ability to administer assessments, develop IEPs, and deliver direct/indirect services
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
- Compassion for working with children from diverse backgrounds
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech/language screenings and evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students
- Provide therapy services in individual and group settings
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and families to optimize student support
- Maintain accurate reports, progress notes, and documentation in compliance with regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to educational planning
- Provide guidance and resources to teachers and caregivers
