This contract position starts as soon as possible and extends through May 26, 2027, offering 2 hours per week onsite at a local high school. Your advanced skills in speech-language, especially with eye gaze-enabled Accent devices, will be crucial in helping a student access educational opportunities and empowering the educational team.
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Speech-Language Pathology License (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (ASHA), with hours appropriately logged if applicable
- Skilled and experienced in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), specifically using and supporting eye gaze technology such as the Accent device
- Demonstrated ability in device programming, calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Strong communication skills and experience in collaborating with educators, students, and support teams
- Relevant professional references
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, in-person SLP services for one student at a high school campus
- Offer indirect assistive technology support, including training and guidance to the student’s educational team
- Program, calibrate, and maintain the Accent eye gaze device; adapt as student needs evolve
- Maintain thorough documentation of sessions and progress
- Ensure your support optimizes the student’s participation and communication at school
