What you’ll need to succeed:
- Active Texas Speech-Language Pathology license (issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA, if you have logged hours
- Recent professional references as required by the school district
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with AT needs, specifically using, programming, calibrating, and maintaining eye gaze technology and Accent devices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills when collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct, in-person speech-language and AT support to a high school student for up to 2 hours each week at a designated school
- Assess, implement, and monitor the use of eye gaze technology, ensuring accurate programming and routine calibration
- Maintain communication with the student’s educational team, offering guidance and indirect consultation
- Document services and progress in compliance with district and professional standards
