School Speech Language Pathologist - Salisbury, NC

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in North Carolina as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). You'll play a key role in advancing communication skills and academic achievement across several schools in the eastern and southern regions of the district. This position welcomes experienced SLPs, as well as Clinical Fellows (CFs) seeking supportive district supervision. Please note, SLPA candidates are not being accepted at this time.
This full-time assignment runs from August 12, 2026, through June 11, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 35 to 37.5 hours. Flexible caseload preferences make it possible to tailor your experience—prospective SLPs can expect manageable caseloads of up to 35 students, with final details determined in the interview process.
Key qualifications include:
- Current North Carolina Speech-Language Pathologist licensure required
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; Clinical Fellows will be considered with district supervision
- Previous school-based SLP experience, especially working with students on the autism spectrum (AU) or who have significant cognitive disabilities, is highly valued
- Commitment to a full academic year contract
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
Primary responsibilities:
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, and therapy for students with speech and language needs
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate closely with educators, families, and other service providers
- Maintain up-to-date and thorough records in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing case management tasks
