This onsite, contract role offers the opportunity to work full time from December 17th through March 12th, providing essential services to a diverse student population.

The caseload includes approximately 20 students in two autism classrooms—many utilizing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices—as well as about 15 students in cross-categorical classrooms and one student from the general education setting. Your skills will be instrumental in supporting communication development, collaborating with fellow educators, and directly enhancing the learning experiences of every student on your caseload.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois SLP license is required
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) mandated by Illinois
  • Prior experience with AAC devices and implementing speech strategies in autism classrooms preferred
  • Background working with students who have a range of disabilities (cross-categorical) is a plus
  • Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech and language therapy to students in both individual and group settings
  • Assess, develop, and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Support students in developing functional communication, including use and programming of AAC devices
  • Provide consultation and training to classroom staff to ensure consistency of communication strategies
  • Maintain detailed records and progress reports, adhering to state and district guidelines
