School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Machesney Park, Illinois

This onsite, full-time contract opportunity begins December 17th and runs through March 12th, offering the chance to work closely with students and collaborate with a talented special education team.
In this role, you'll provide speech and language services to approximately 20 students in two autism classrooms—many of whom utilize AAC devices—as well as about 15 students in cross-categorical classrooms and one general education student. Your expertise will play a crucial part in helping students reach their communication goals and thrive in their educational settings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Illinois SLP license required
- Professional Educator License (PEL) for Illinois required
- Previous school-based SLP experience is highly valued
- Experience working with AAC devices and students on the autism spectrum preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to support a diverse caseload and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and address speech, language, and communication needs
- Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Provide therapy in both small group and individual sessions
- Document progress and communicate with families and staff
- Contribute to team meetings and collaboration with teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
