School Speech Language Pathologist - Belvidere, IL
Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathologist. This position, based onsite, runs from December 17 to March 12th and offers the chance to make a positive difference in a dynamic and collaborative school environment.
You’ll enjoy a full-time schedule, partnering with approximately 20 students across two autism-focused classrooms—many of whom utilize AAC devices. In addition, the role includes supporting about 15 students in Cross Categorical Classrooms and one student in a general education setting. This diverse caseload invites the use of your expertise and creativity, making each day both challenging and rewarding.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois SLP License required
- Professional Educator License (PEL) for SLPs required
- Experience with AAC devices strongly preferred
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Adaptability and strong communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group speech-language therapy based on IEP goals
- Collaborate closely with special education teams, teachers, and families
- Conduct assessments, write progress reports, and maintain documentation
- Integrate AAC strategies and tools to facilitate student communication
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student planning
