School Speech Language Pathologist - Philadelphia, PA

Step into a contract opportunity near Philadelphia, PA, supporting a vibrant student population aged 3–21. The position starts as soon as possible and continues through June 11, 2027, with regular school hours—Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for working with students who have visual impairments, as well as cognitive, medical, and orthopedic needs. The caseload generally includes 25–40 students, most of whom are non-verbal, requiring a creative and adaptable approach to communication and therapy.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active SLP-CCC credential or clinical fellowship year (CFY) eligibility
- Experience or strong interest in working with students with multiple and complex disabilities
- Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and systems (eye gaze, tactile/picture-based, low-tech solutions)
- Collaborative mindset for integrating speech services into daily school routines
- Strong communication skills for team-based work and family collaboration
Responsibilities:
- Deliver a combination of direct, consultative, and group speech therapy services
- Focus efforts on fostering functional communication, independence, and the use of AAC for non-verbal students
- Set up and implement individualized communication systems, adapting to each student’s needs
- Collaborate closely with educational teams and families to promote progress toward functional goals
- Maintain detailed records and track student progress
