School Speech Language Pathologist - Bensalem, Pennsylvania
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with a diverse range of needs in a school-based setting near Bensalem, PA. This role begins as soon as possible and runs through June 11, 2027 (with the possibility of extended makeup days). You’ll collaborate with a skilled team, helping students ages 3–21 develop essential communication skills and greater independence.
In this position, you will work Monday through Friday for 35 hours a week, supporting a caseload of 25–40 students with visual impairments and cognitive, medical, or orthopedic needs. The focus is on integrating communication systems into students’ daily routines, prioritizing functional goals through both direct and consultative services as well as group sessions. Most students are non-verbal, so experience with AAC devices (eye gaze, tactile/picture communication systems, low-tech devices) is crucial, as is a commitment to reinforcing student independence.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates considered
- Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems—implementation, setup, and integration
- Ability to develop and track functional, individualized goals
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, consultative, and group speech-language services
- Develop, implement, and monitor communication systems tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families to promote student progress
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and reports
