Step into a meaningful opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist specializing in supporting a medically fragile, bed-bound middle school student. This contract position (2.5 hours per week) offers a chance to make a lasting impact in a student's educational and communicative journey, working closely with a dedicated team and family. The position is based just 15 minutes west of Philadelphia, serving the student in their home setting. Immediate and year-round start dates are available, with the intent for an ongoing, multi-year commitment.
Our ideal candidate is a bilingual (Spanish/English) SLP holding current ASHA CCCs. However, strong non-bilingual SLPs are also encouraged to apply, as interpreter support may be provided if needed. Consistent, long-term engagement is desired to ensure the best outcomes for the student and their family.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active ASHA CCC certification
- Pennsylvania state SLP license (or eligibility)
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred; open to strong monolingual candidates
- Experience working with medically fragile or bed-bound students is highly valued
- Strong communication skills and a sensitive, patient approach
Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 speech-language therapy sessions in-home, focusing on functional communication and individualized goals
- Collaborate with OT, PT, family, and school professionals for holistic care
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress reports
- Foster trust and continuity with the student and family over time
