School Speech Language Pathologist - Palm Desert, CA
Embark on a rewarding experience supporting student communication and language development in the heart of Southern California. This is a full-time, full-school-year contract for a Speech-Language Pathologist with commitment to onsite work. Flexibility and adaptability are key, as there is a strong likelihood of itinerant assignments, with the highest need in PreK settings. Bilingual Spanish fluency is strongly valued (though not required), supporting a vibrant and diverse student population.
Ideal candidates demonstrate a passion for fostering student success, utilizing innovative techniques—including AAC devices—and are comfortable collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team. Opportunities exist for both experienced clinicians and Clinical Fellows (CFs) eager to launch their careers in schools.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or eligibility for CF supervision
- Active CA SLP license and Certificate of Clearance (COC)
- Comfortable working onsite and committed to an assignment of at least one school year
- Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred; monolingual candidates welcome
- Previous experience in schools, with SEIS and CA Medicaid (Paradigm) a plus
- Skilled in evaluation and treatment of a range of needs from mild to severe, including AAC
- Itinerant flexibility highly desired
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct speech/language services for PreK-12 students, primarily in PreK
- Conduct assessments, develop, and implement IEPs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and staff
- Maintain timely documentation and compliance
- Travel between sites, if assigned as itinerant
