Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist in Newark, DE
Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students at the elementary level with inclusive, mild to moderate needs. This opportunity is ideal for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) holding a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) seeking to focus on pediatric populations and develop their expertise in a school setting. You’ll be working with approximately 40-45 students, providing services in a welcoming environment that encourages continued learning and professional growth. The setting is especially suited for a newer SLP eager to learn best practices under thoughtful mentorship.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active CCC from ASHA
- Eligible for state licensure as an SLP
- Pediatric, school-based, or healthcare SLP experience preferred, but strong newer graduates and Clinical Fellows are encouraged to apply
- Knowledge of special education procedures, inclusive educational strategies, and working with mild/moderate caseloads
- Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in elementary-aged students within the school environment
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to support student IEP goals and academic success
- Create and implement evidence-based intervention plans tailored to individual student needs
- Maintain accurate and timely student documentation and progress reports
- Engage in consultation and professional development opportunities as offered
- Participate in team meetings to promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment
