Step into a rewarding school-based opportunity for a speech-language pathologist with a school contract assignment in vibrant New Orleans, LA. This onsite role is full-time, working 37.5 hours per week, covering a maternity leave from September 14th through the return from Thanksgiving break, November 30th. You’ll work exclusively at a single elementary campus, managing a caseload of 50-60 students, with opportunities to make a significant impact during the assignment period. This supportive educational environment is also open to clinical fellows (CFs) eager to build skills alongside experienced professionals.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid SLP license for the state of Louisiana
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; however, strong CF candidates will be considered
- School-based SLP experience is highly valued
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Commitment to providing onsite services
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to elementary students in individual and group settings
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other service providers to support student progress
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attend IEP meetings
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning experience for each child on your caseload
