A school-based Speech Language Pathologist opportunity is available in the Wilmington area, where you’ll make a significant impact by supporting students within school buildings and providing essential services to those who are medically homebound. The flexibility of this contract position allows for either full-time (37.5 hours per week) or part-time engagement, Monday through Friday, starting August 25, 2026 and running until June 8, 2027.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current and active Delaware Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Experience in school-based settings
- Compassion for working with pediatric populations, including medically homebound students
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
- Flexibility to adapt to fluctuating caseloads across various school sites
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy sessions to K-12 students as assigned, both onsite and for homebound learners
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in accordance with IEP goals
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to foster students’ communication skills
- Maintain detailed records and progress reports, ensuring adherence to all district and federal guidelines
- Provide recommendations for assistive technology and intervention strategies as needed
- Participate in relevant IEP and intervention meetings
