π Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and student-focused Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support an elementary school caseload in Modesto, California for the 2026β2027 school year. This role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners by supporting communication development, academic readiness, and social language skills in a school-based setting.
π― Key Responsibilities
- Conduct speech-language screenings, evaluations, and assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP goals
- Provide direct and consultative speech-language therapy services
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaboration
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation and compliance records
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
- Support students with a variety of speech and language disorders
- Maintain compliance with IDEA, California Education Code, and district policies
- Utilize AAC and other communication supports as needed
π California State Requirements
Candidates must meet California requirements for school-based Speech-Language Pathologists, including:
- π Masterβs Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- πͺͺ Active California Speech-Language Pathology License issued by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board (SLPAB), or eligibility to obtain licensure
- πͺͺ Eligibility for or possession of a California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential authorizing services in educational settings (Kβ12)
- π Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and California Education Code requirements related to special education
- π§ Understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance procedures
- π Successful completion of required California background clearance (including DOJ fingerprinting) prior to start
β Preferred Qualifications
- School-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Experience working with elementary-aged students
- Familiarity with AAC systems and assistive technology
- Strong documentation, evaluation, and caseload management skills
- Collaborative, student-centered approach
