Ideal candidates bring a commitment to fostering communication skills and have experience or interest in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices. Recent graduates or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates are encouraged; supervision from an experienced SLP is available on-site.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid state licensure (or eligibility) as an SLP
- Clinical Competence Certificate (CCC) preferred, but strong CFY candidates welcome
- Previous experience with pediatric speech, language, and communication needs
- Familiarity or experience with AAC devices and technology preferred
- Understanding of supporting diverse learning and communication styles in a school setting
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy within a self-contained classroom for students in grades K-7
- Assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with staff and families to ensure students’ needs are met
- Document progress and maintain clear records
- Provide input for IEP development and participate in meetings as appropriate
- Integrate assistive and augmentative communication systems as needed
