About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students in a school-based setting. In this role, you will help students develop the skills necessary for academic success, independence, and participation in school activities. You’ll collaborate closely with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to create meaningful outcomes for students.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine students’ functional needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with IEP goals
- Provide direct and consultative OT services to students across various grade levels
- Support development of fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care, and classroom participation
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to support student success
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation (IEPs, progress notes, reports)
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary team discussions
- Recommend adaptive equipment and classroom/environmental modifications
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current state OT license (or eligibility)
- NBCOT certification required
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and special education services
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
