Pediatric School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Independence, Virginia
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving children and young adults ages 2-22 as a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist for a school-based setting near Independence, VA. In this impactful position, you’ll work with a diverse caseload of approximately 68 students, utilizing your specialized expertise to support their communication and developmental needs. The assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through the end of the school year, with the possibility of renewal for those wishing to make a longer-term difference.
Candidates should be prepared to deliver services across in-person and/or teletherapy platforms, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours, scheduled over five days. This is an excellent chance to strengthen or broaden your experience in pediatrics and educational therapy, working in collaboration with educators and families.
Requirements and Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology with current MS-CCC certification
- Previous experience in school settings, pediatrics, teletherapy, or healthcare environments preferred
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) a plus
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Compassion, adaptability, and a student-centered approach
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs and therapy plans for varied age ranges
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide therapy to students with a variety of speech and language challenges
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, progress monitoring, and IEP development
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure comprehensive care
- Deliver engaging interventions both onsite and via teletherapy platforms as needed
- Participate in student evaluations, eligibility meetings, and team consults
