Pediatric School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Galax, Virginia

Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required
- Experience working in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Open to Clinical Fellows (CFY), SLPs with healthcare backgrounds, and those experienced with teletherapy
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and staff
- Professional commitment to supporting diverse student populations
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide therapy for students ages 2-22 with a range of speech and language disorders
- Manage and prioritize a caseload of approximately 68 students
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with educators and parents to promote student progress
- Deliver both on-site and teletherapy services as required by the school or district
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school and regulatory standards
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and staff collaboration sessions
This contract position provides 37.5 hours of work per week across a standard five-day schedule, beginning as soon as possible and extending through the end of the school year, with potential renewal for the following year. The compensation for this position will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience.
