School Speech Language Pathologist - Hayward, California
Make a meaningful impact in the academic journey of high school students by providing essential speech and language services. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to work primarily with 9th-grade students, managing a caseload of 35-45 individuals. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting students’ communication development in a collaborative and welcoming educational atmosphere.
Start date aligns with the upcoming 24/25 school year, and you’ll work four days per week on-site, enjoying regular school hours. Your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathologist will be pivotal in enhancing learning outcomes for a diverse high school population.
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Strong expertise in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech and language disorders
- Ability to manage an organized caseload and work independently as well as collaboratively
- Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Passion for empowering adolescents through positive intervention
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, develop IEPs, and provide direct and consultative SLP services
- Support and guide a caseload of 35-45 students, mainly in 9th grade
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation and progress reports
- Participate in IEP and related meetings
- Adapt therapeutic strategies to meet individual student needs
