Speech Language Pathologist in Hayward, CA
Embark on a rewarding opportunity to support high school students as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the upcoming 2024/2025 academic year. This contract-based position offers the chance to help students develop vital communication skills in a vibrant educational environment.
As a key support for a primarily ninth-grade caseload, you will have the chance to work with a diverse group of 35-45 students, fostering their academic progress and personal growth. This full-time position is structured as four days per week, allowing for a focused, balanced schedule.
Key Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid SLP-CCC credentials
- Experience in school settings, preferably at the secondary level
- Strong clinical reasoning and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom atmosphere
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver evidence-based speech and language therapy to students in a high school setting
- Assess, develop, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students on your caseload
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student progress and generalization of skills
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with all regulatory and district guidelines
- Participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions
- Provide guidance and resources to educators and families
