Speech Language Pathologist in Gretna, LA
Make a real impact this school year by providing essential speech-language pathology services to students in a supportive and energized elementary setting. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity runs from mid-September to late November, covering a maternity leave. You'll work with a diverse caseload of 50-60 students, helping them reach communication milestones and achieve success in the classroom.
Ideal candidates bring strong SLP credentials and a passion for school-based therapy. This role is also open to Clinical Fellows seeking a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Valid SLP-CCC or eligible Clinical Fellow (CF considered)
- Licensure (or eligibility) for speech-language practice in Louisiana
- School-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Effective collaborator with teachers, parents, and support staff
- Willingness to work exclusively onsite with elementary age students
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy to elementary students as outlined in IEPs
- Assess, diagnose, and develop intervention plans for speech, language, and communication disorders
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state requirements
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and collaborate with educators and families
- Use evidence-based practices to foster students’ academic and social communication skills
- Adapt therapy techniques for diverse student needs and backgrounds
