Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Detroit, Michigan

Empower students to reach their full communication potential in a dynamic school-based setting near Detroit, MI. Work as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) providing services from September 1st through June 16th, 2027, on a full-time contract basis (8am-3:30pm). This enriching opportunity supports an ASD program spanning three buildings—elementary, middle, and high school—serving K-10th grade students. You’ll make a measurable difference in the lives of 35-40 students by primarily delivering push-in services that foster inclusive learning environments.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Active SLP license for the state of Michigan or eligibility for Michigan licensure
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC), or eligibility to complete Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
- Familiarity with pediatric populations, especially in school or healthcare settings
- Experience with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) populations is highly valued
- Collaborative approach to working with educational teams and families
- Ability to manage a diverse student caseload across multiple grade levels and buildings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language therapy services, primarily within classroom (push-in) settings
- Assess students’ communication abilities and develop individualized goals
- Collaborate closely with teachers, aides, and school staff to support student achievement
- Evaluate, monitor, and document student progress, adapting interventions as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of service plans
- Support inclusive education and facilitate communication strategies for students with ASD
