Virtual Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) – School-Based Position (EIPA 4.0 Required)

Soliant is seeking a qualified Virtual Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide interpretation services for a school district. This remote opportunity is ideal for an experienced educational interpreter who is passionate about supporting Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students and ensuring equitable access to classroom instruction.

Position Details

Full-time Virtual Sign Language Interpreter position
School-based assignment
Remote/virtual interpreting opportunity
EIPA score of 4.0 or higher required
Competitive compensation
1099 Independent Contractor opportunity
K–12 student caseload based on district needs
2026–2027 school year contract with potential renewal

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality virtual interpreting services for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students
Facilitate communication access between students, teachers, staff, and peers
Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, announcements, and school activities
Collaborate with educators and support teams to ensure student communication needs are met
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical interpreting standards
Support an inclusive learning environment through effective communication access

Qualifications

EIPA score of 4.0 or higher required
Educational interpreting experience preferred
Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting practices
Experience supporting students in a K–12 educational setting preferred
Ability to provide clear and effective interpretation through a virtual platform
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
