School-Based Speech Language Pathologist | Cicero, Illinois
Are you passionate about supporting students’ communication skills and making a meaningful impact in a diverse academic environment? An exciting opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to work in a respected school network servicing a variety of communities stretching from the heart of Chicago to North Chicago. This full-time, in-person contract role runs from July 20, 2026, through June 11, 2027, and spans multiple grade levels and school sites, offering a dynamic and engaging work experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting screenings, evaluations, and re-evaluations for students in grades PreK-8
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) to address communication and language needs
- Providing direct therapy, consultation, and support for students with speech and language disorders
- Collaborating closely with families, teachers, and staff to foster a supportive educational environment
- Maintaining timely and accurate documentation in line with school and district policies
- Covering locations as needed throughout the school network (mainly L6 and L10, with the possibility of L9)
Preferred qualifications and skills:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Professional licensure to practice in Illinois
- Previous school-based SLP experience preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are highly valued, though not required
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration abilities
- Ability to travel between multiple school sites if necessary
