School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Chicago, Illinois
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting PreK programs near Chicago, IL, covering a maternity leave from early to mid-October through March. This full-time role is perfect for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP-CCC or SLP-CFY) eager to make a meaningful impact with young learners between 3 and 5 years old. You’ll divide your time between two PreK sites, providing essential speech and language services across four classrooms and participating in collaborative, team-based assessments.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and state licensure
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates welcome
- Experience working within school settings, particularly with early childhood (PreK) populations
- Familiarity with Transdisciplinary Play Based Assessment is highly desirable
- Spanish language proficiency a bonus, though not required
- Strong communication, organizational, and team collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect speech and language therapy to PreK students (ages 3-5)
- Conduct and participate in transdisciplinary, play-based evaluations alongside a collaborative team
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) targeting speech and language objectives
- Liaise with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary staff to maximize student progress
- Document services, maintain records, and participate in case conferences and team meetings
